Weak retail datas from Europe
According to Ecostat; Euro zone retail sales fell unexpectedly in September, on a monthly basis. This shows the weak consumer demands, which questions the strength of economic expansion.
Within the euro area, retail sales decreased by 0.7 percent, from August to September, which is the greatest decline since October 2008. On an annual basis, a 3.6 percent decline was registered. The analysts forecasted a 0.2 percent monthly expansion and only a 2.4 percent annual decline. Throughout the European Union, the monthly retail sales fell by 0.4 percent and 2.5 percent on an annual level – reports Profitline.hu.
