JYSK provides career opportunities for young people living in child protection
JYSK Hungary attaches great importance to social responsibility, especially supporting disadvantaged young people. As part of this, she joined the Apponyi Franciska Jövőműhely Program, which aims to provide long-term career opportunities for young people living in child protection care, and to support them with mentoring and training in their entry into the labor market.
In Hungary, about 23 thousand children and young adults live in specialized child protection services. The Apponyi Franciska Future Workshop Program was launched in 2023 in order to promote the social and community attachment of children living in child protection, their marketable career choices, and their employment on the labor market. The aim of the Ministry of the Interior’s program is to provide training and mentoring to young adults preparing to enter the labor market to help them find a job that matches their interests, abilities and personality.
“We created the program to create safe labor market foundations and new career opportunities for young people living in child protection care. To this end, we would like to provide a meeting point between the child protection system and business associations”
– said Attila Fülöp, the State Secretary responsible for care policy at the Ministry of the Interior.
Mentoring and integration of young talents at JYSK
An important part of JYSK’s social responsibility initiatives is the program, which forms a bridge between child protection care and the corporate sector, contributing to the long-term integration of young people into the labor market.
The retail chain has already launched a talent development program that helps young people of Roma origin and living in state aftercare to develop their professional life path. The current cooperation with the Apponyi Franciska Program further strengthens this commitment.
