Children’s Day the PENNY way: multi-million donation and voluntary help
On the occasion of Children’s Day, PENNY Hungary once again supported organizations that help disadvantaged children with a product and monetary donation worth several million forints. And its employees contributed with voluntary work to put smiles on the faces of the smallest children in cooperation with the supporting organizations.
The International Children’s Rescue Service and the supermarket chain have already worked together on several occasions to improve the everyday lives of children and disadvantaged families. This year, PENNY supported the Children’s Day program of the Children’s Rescue Service with a product donation worth HUF one million, so that loud children’s laughter could once again fill Budapest’s City Park. In addition, the department store chain provided employees with the opportunity to experience the joy of social responsibility and selfless help as volunteers. In the framework of this unprecedented cooperation, the enthusiastic helpers actively participated not only in the organization of the event, but also in the preparations, thereby proving the team spirit that defines the everyday life of PENNY employees.
At the two-day, completely free event, visitors were welcomed with craft activities, sports programs, the highly successful Street of Nations, educational lectures and concerts.
