GVH: total value of consumer redress ordered in competition authority proceedings exceeded 4.1 billion in the first half of this year

According to a quick report published on the website of the Competition Authority, the GVH’s year is mainly determined by cartel cases, two-thirds of the imposed official fines were imposed in this segment.
In connection with consumer protection cases, action related to the coronavirus pandemic was highlighted, and companies engaged in misleading commercial communications in connection with the pandemic had to pay a total fine of almost 220 million HUF in the first half of the year. (MTI)
