GVH: 100 product categories are now available in the online Price Monitor
The online Price Monitoring system operated by the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) has been expanded with 22 new product categories. Thus, the daily updated prices of 100 product categories, a total of about 3,000 different food products, can now be tracked in the system, in 1,231 stores of six retail chains nationwide – the GVH told MTI on Wednesday.
They highlighted that the Price Monitoring accurately and up-to-dately shows price changes, including price decreases. According to the system’s data, the prices of the vast majority of basic foodstuffs subject to the margin freeze have decreased in the past week or so.
Following the social consultation, the Price Monitoring system has been expanded to include, among others, various types of meat and butchery, fish, dairy products, as well as rice, bread rolls, cocoa powder and ground coffee
– they announced.
In addition to the expansion of product categories, the convenience functions of the online Price Monitor also help customers, according to the GVH information.
By using the freely computable shopping list available in the system and the map store filter, families can save money and time during large purchases planned in the period before Easter.
This is also contributed by the fact that since the margin stop measure came into effect on March 17, prices have decreased in the vast majority of the 30 product categories affected, according to the online Price Monitor data. In the case of several basic foodstuffs, by 30-40 percent, and in the case of some products, by more than 50 percent, they said.
