GVH: families can also save a lot during Easter shopping with the Price Watcher
Families can also save money and time during Easter shopping by using the online Price Watcher, the Economic Competition Authority (GVH) pointed out in a statement on Friday.
In the system operated by GVH, the prices of a total of 2,000 different food products from 78 product categories can be compared on a daily basis since January. Hungarian consumers can save thousands of forints in preparation for Easter by using the convenience functions of the Árhielő, with conscious planning, the competition authority announced.
It was recalled in the announcement: seven years ago, food inflation was not as low as it was in February 2024. Targeted government measures, central bank measures and GVH’s competition-enhancing interventions, including the online Price Monitoring system, contributed to the annualized monthly inflation falling to 3.7 percent, according to data from the Central Statistics Office (KSH).
