Guller: rural Hungary is experiencing a renaissance
Rural Hungary is “experiencing a renaissance” and Budapest is “in huge trouble,” the CEO of the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) said at a press conference on the Fejér County developments of the National Tourism Development Strategy 2030 in Székesfehérvár on Tuesday.
Presenting the national data from last Friday, Guller Zoltán pointed out that out of the total 153,000 guests, 130,000 were domestic and 23,000 were foreign, so it can be said that basically domestic tourism is the determining factor. He added that even 10,000 of the foreigners had arrived in the capital, the rest had rural destinations. Guller Zoltán emphasized that the figures show that 70-80 percent of domestic tourism is provided by rural people. (MTI)
