Grüne Woche Berlin: Hungarians meet with German purveyors
One of the world's most prestigious agricultural and food industry exhibition, the Grüne Woche Berlin is in full swing. The Hungarian participants called the attention of more than 400 thousand guests, to their products.
– After a six years break, we exhibit again at the Berlin Grüne Woche – said Zernig Frigyes, the foreign trade director of Hungerit on Sunday afternoon. – Because Hungary is currently the partner country of the event, we are confident that due to the special interest towards our products, our business relationships will expand.
The majority of the 40 Hungarian companies exhibits for similar reasons. Furthermore, it is important for them to attract, the more than 400 thousand visitors.
On Saturday, 46 Ministers of Agriculture discussed over the interactions of the food production increase and the climate change. Alexander Müller, the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization, the FAO's deputy general manager pointed out:
– Global warming is not only environmental but also an economic and political issue. Until 2050, the world's population is expected to grow to 9 billion, from the current 6.2 billion. Seventy percent more food will be produced in the world to alleviate hunger. However, this will result in more carbon dioxide emissions. The problem must be sought jointly – reports Trade magazin’s correspondent, Bajai Ernő from Berlin.
