Spider monkeys instead of gorillas
In the past couple of years even the smallest sales details were decided in Wal-Mart’s headquarters. The recession changed everything, consumer demand has become much more diverse. As Doug Stephens of Retail Prophet Consulting puts it: – Retailers have to be more daring, more local and more flexible. They have to be a well organised group of spider monkeys instead of a huge gorilla.
