Google: the popularity of other accommodation has increased among Hungarian travelers despite the pandemic

Between March and September this year, the popularity of other accommodation establishments, ie apartments, boarding houses, guest houses and campsites, increased by 10% among Hungarian travelers compared to the same period in 2019 – was said at the Google Hungary industry expert online briefing in Budapest.

According to Google search data, Hungarians did not give up traveling completely this summer either, but their habits have changed greatly. In addition to the destinations, this change is most visible in the types of accommodation chosen – Valu Róbert an industry analyst at Google Hungary said. He added that although the hotel category within tourist searches is still three times larger than other accommodation types, in March-September this year ten percent more people searched for other accommodation, ie accommodation in apartments, boarding houses, guest houses and campsites than in the same period of last year.
