GKI: How much energy do companies save with investments?
GKI Gazdaságkutató Zrt. examined whether the enterprises had implemented energy-saving investments in the last 3 years, and how much energy savings they achieved. The survey was conducted in May 2022, based on the responses of 964 companies, which are (non-multi) companies with more than 5 employees.
39% of domestic companies implemented energy-saving improvements in the last 3 years, which can be considered a low rate in light of rising energy costs. At the same time, this is becoming more common as the size of companies increases. Companies with less than 11 employees carried out this type of development the least (28%), and companies with over 250 employees (75%) mostly. This is also related to the size of the energy bill: the more you have to pay for energy, the more perceptible the savings. In addition, the preparation and management of budget and EU tenders supporting investments is easier for larger than for smaller companies, where there are hardly any people to deal with the bureaucracy.
