GKI: next year the Hungarian economy will increase by only 2.5 percent
The conditions of economic growth are worse than previously assumed, therefore, the GKI Economic Research Co. decreased next year’s growth forecast, from 3 percent to 2.5 percent. This year’s forecast remains 1 percent.
GKI assume that the government will essentially meet with next year's deficit target of 3 percent. The 1 percentage point fiscal deficit improvement will be created by the expected 2.5 percent GDP growth in itself, but in case of significant tax reductions the deficit target below 3 percent is a significant challenge.
