GKI: Hungary continues to lag behind the region
According to this year’s second overall forecast of the GKI Economic Research Co. Hungary continues to lag behind the region – Vértes András, president of the GKI told in Budapest at the economic research firm’s press conference on Wednesday.
He emphasized that the downward trend has been going on since 2005-2006. In case of the per capita GDP Hungary only overtakes Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia in the region.
According to this year’s second overall forecast of the company the recession has ended in Hungary but for the whole year only a “positive sign” stagnation is expected. The decline in investment continues, while the consumption, despite the increase in real incomes remain essentially unchanged. (MTI)
