GKI: international trade chains are constantly gaining weight
According to a statement sent to MTI on Wednesday, meanwhile, there have been significant changes in the structure of this market: partly by setting up new stores and partly by sniffing out the customers of other retail chains and individual retailers. Between 2010 and 2020, Lidl’s store network expanded by 51, Aldi’s by 74 and Penny Market’s by 40 stores, and their turnover increased 3.7, 6.7 and 2.3 times, respectively. By 2020, Lidl has become the largest retail chain in Hungary. (MTI)
