GFM: the sums on the SZÉP card can be used in full until May 31
In order to support the tourism and catering sector and preserve the significant number of jobs they maintain, the government previously decided that the amounts credited on the SZÉP card until October 15, 2022, can be used in full until May 31, 2023, after which a 15 percent fee will charge the “stuck” amounts – reminded the Ministry of Economic Development (GFM) in its statement on Friday.
According to the available data, the government’s targeted measures proved to be successful and effective, instead of the 100 billion forints experienced previously, only 20-22 billion forints of “sleep money” were available on the SZÉP cards at the beginning of April 2023. The government thanks the population for their cooperation, with their contribution, nearly 80 billion forints of resources were added to the economy, contributing to the protection of jobs and families, wrote the GFM.
At the same time, in the announcement, the attention of all SZÉP card holders is repeatedly drawn to the fact that they use the balance of the SZÉP card credited until October 15, 2022, which is still available, in time – that is, by May 31.
