GFM: payments are continuous in the Széchenyi Card Program
In particular, given that domestic small and medium-sized enterprises account for the majority of the employed and provide the livelihood of millions of families, the government is committed to increasing the sector’s competitiveness and strengthening SMEs. This is also served by the Széchenyi Card Program, thanks to which around 440,000 transactions worth more than HUF 6,100 billion have been created since its inception – the Ministry of Economic Development (GFM) announced in a statement sent to MTI on Monday.
It was highlighted: the Széchenyi Card Program and its budget support – as one of the government’s flagship credit programs – have increased to an unprecedented extent, partly in order to reduce the negative effects of the credit freeze caused by Covid and partly as a result of war-related sanctions and inflation, compared to previous years.
They recalled that on January 1, 2023, the Széchenyi Card Program came under the tasks and powers of the GFM, which was established as an independent ministry. The ministry created the necessary conditions for the continuation and acceleration of the program in the shortest possible time. Based on these, the group support documents issued to the beneficiaries of the program were issued and published on the government’s website, and the payments to the financial institutions that advanced the support started.
