GfK: we spend more on coffee, but consume less
Because of the significant price increases consumers' buying habits slightly changed in the coffee category.
Coffee is a popular drink: nine out of ten households in Hungary bought coffee in the first ten months of 2012. In addition, consumers spent more on it, since in January – October 2011 an average shopper spent nearly 7,400 HUF on coffee. In the same period in 2012 this figure was close to 8,000 HUF. However, this increase is deceptive, because it is due to the 15 percent price increase. The market in quantities decreased by six percent.
