GfK: we eat more fruits and vegetables
Hungarian households bought 6 percent more fruits and vegetables in 2011, than a year earlier. Fruits and vegetables are regular almost on every family table. The most popular fruits are apples, the largest amount is consumed of potatoes – shows the household panel data of GfK.
An average Hungarian household purchases 93 kilograms of fruits and 156 kilograms of vegetables a year. Traditional retail channels continue to play important role in procurement, as nearly half of the total vegetable turnover and third of the vegetable turnover is realized on markets and fruit and vegetable stores.
