Magazine: A revolution of machines
These days coffee drinkers are becoming increasingly conscious and they like to try special products. They are not content with anything – they like to know what they drink and how it was made. Lőrincz László, Pannon Kávé Kft.’s managing director opines that four things are necessary for making a good cup of coffee: quality coffee, a good coffee machine, good water and expertise from the person who makes the coffee. Soon the company will start selling water quality improving equipment: these Homewater machines use reverse osmosis technology and represent state-of-the-art technology. Roland Kajor, sales manager with Kávé Profi Kft. (the distributor of Jura coffee machines) reckons that with automatic coffee machines the most recent big innovation was developing the milk foam maker, with the help of which cappuccino and latte macchiato can be made with the push of a button. This way time can be saved because while the coffee is made, other orders can be prepared. Miklós Komáromi, Mocca Negra Zrt.’s CEO told our magazine that in their work they prioritise flexibility, reliability and quality. They regularly include novelties in their assortment, for instance Bravos brown sugar. Gabriella Csvórics, Nespresso’s marketing manager informed Trade magazin that Nespresso puts limited edition coffees on the market several times a year – these can only be bought for a few weeks. In the autumn a limited edition coffee from the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program will appear in shops for the first time. Nespresso’s latest coffee machine Pixie was launched this spring and in the autumn Lattissima+ family will appear in shops. Mocca Negra organises training programmes for the staff of cafés, bars and restaurants. The company’s view is that selling coffee specialties increases sales of a coffee house because these products have a higher added value. Consumer expectation is to be able to choose from a wider selection of coffee-based drinks, no matter which part of the day it is. Mocca Negra also distributes professional coffee makers, several famous brands can be found in their portfolio. They also offer maintenance, servicing and replacement coffee machines. Pannon Kávé agrees that well-trained baristas and coffee specialties are prerequisites of a good café, for instance they sell different types of coffee flavouring syrups. Kávé Profi’s representative is convinced that coffee machines can be intelligent but they cannot substitute baristas. There are places where an automatic coffee machine looks odd and there are others where there is no need for a barista. Nespresso’s designers focus on two directions: coffee machines have to be easy to use and environmentally friendly. As for where to drink our daily cup, we can say that modern coffee houses of different chains and traditional cafés both have a place under the sun, the most important thing is that they should sell quality coffee with quality service.
