EU can allow GM maize
The European Union agriculture ministers of the member countries reached no agreement about allowing the three GM maize to the EU markets- said Gráf József Minister of Agriculture, after the meeting.
Therefore, the decision will remain to the European Commission to issue the license for the three products of the U.S. Monsanto and Pioneer companies. Mariann Fischer Boel, Commissioner for Agicuklture stated that in case of the ministers are not able to make a decision the committee will approve the marketing of the plants. Hungary consistently said no for all three maize products – reports Origo.
