GDSN – master data sharing to increase business efficiency
The cooperation between retailers and manufacturers has reached another important milestone with the active use of GDSN (Global Data Synchronization Network), thereby significantly increasing the business efficiency of the supply chain. METRO, NESTLÉ, UNILEVER, BUNGE, SCA, Coca Cola, P&G and COOP have already started to use the GDSN.
With the GDSN system, the companies can manage the master datas of their products in just one place. All their individually business partners who are authorized to be involved to the system can see, use and even integrate these shared standard datas to their own business system.
The GDSN is an international network that already contains more than 8.5 million product datas of 22,000 companies worldwide, and is constantly expanding.
