Hungarian mineral waters are guaranteed to be of good quality
Hungarian mineral waters are guaranteed to be of good quality; in addition to the big, well-known brands, customers can choose from the products of countless smaller bottlers – pointed out the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy (NAK).
According to their announcement on Tuesday, domestic consumers are in a lucky situation, because Hungary is a real mineral water superpower, and is among the countries that distribute the most mineral water in Europe.
The official database of domestic mineral water sources is managed by the National Center for Public Health, currently 274 recognized wells are registered, most of them in the counties of Pest and Bács-Kiskun.
In the 1980s, per capita consumption hovered around 3 liters per year, but today it exceeds 130 liters, with this value, domestic mineral water consumption is among the top five countries in the European Union. 1,200-1,300 million liters of mineral water are put on the market every year – explained the NAK.
