Gallus Kft.: big losses at poultry farmers, due to the heat
According to the estimations of the Gallus Kft. dealing with poulltry farming, the extreme heat has caused more than a billion HUF damage so far to the domestic poultry farmers. The Devecser-based group has suffered 100 million HUF loss on an annual basis due to the animal mortality, caused by the heat wave and as the result of the loss of weight gain – told Szita Roland, Deputy CEO of the company to MTI.
According to their estimates the heat wave could cause a 150-200 million HUF daily damage to the poultry keepers on national level. He emphasized that the breeding companies also suffer serious damages: mortality is high among the breeder flocks, and egg production also declined. It will take several weeks, while production returns to normal – he added. (MTI)
