Grain growers: there can be a major crop loss because of drought
The quality of autumn sowing is diminishing due to drought, and crop losses could be as high as 2-3 million tonnes – the president of the National Association of Cereal Producers told MTI on Thursday.
Petőházi Tamás said that although spring sowing could have begun due to the rain of recent days, still a precipitation of at least 100 millimeters would be needed to restore the soil’s water resources – he said. (MTI)
