ALDI Hungary contributes to the well-being of Hungarian families with its wide range of affordable, quality products. The company believes in the power of community and actively works to shape social attitudes.

In this year’s XIX. NN Ultrabalaton running event – similarly to previous years – ALDI participated with the ALDI Run for Fun and ALDI Speed Squad teams, consisting of its enthusiastic colleagues. The ALDI Speed Squad runners finished in 48th place with a time of 16:59:50, while the ALDI Run for Fun team members circled Lake Balaton with a time of 21:01:05. The company’s employees started not only for the joy of exercise and good performance, but also to draw society’s attention to the work of the Bátor Tábor Foundation. Children with cancer and life-long illnesses receive the strength to recover and the self-confidence to live. Thanks to the foundation, more than 4,000 seriously ill children and their families benefit from healing experiences each year through camp, hospital, school and online programs.

ALDI’s two running teams launched a community fundraiser for the Bátor Tábor Experience Fund, so anyone could donate a small or large amount to the Bátor Tábor fundraising page, which the organization uses to support seriously ill children and their families. The company’s runners’ appeal received dozens of donations, raising a total of more than 250,000 forints for Bátor Tábor. The foundation will use the money for its summer camps: instead of four last year, five camps are now open for children affected by the disease this year.

12 years with the bravest

ALDI has been in contact with the Bátor Tábor Foundation since 2014 and also supports the charitable organization with financial donations. In addition to the amount raised by the department store chain’s two running teams, ALDI is supporting the work of Bátor Tábor with an additional 8 million forints this year, once again standing by the bravest. The discount chain has donated nearly 100 million forints to the foundation since the beginning of the cooperation, thus providing assistance to more than 25,000 affected people through their programs over the past 12 years.
