Amazon Web Services is launching an independent European cloud service available only in the EU
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched a new, independent European cloud service that meets the strictest data protection and operational requirements, the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, which is both physically and logically separate from the existing AWS regions, but at the same time offers the same security, availability and performance provides to all European users operating in highly regulated industries and the public sector.
The implementation of the service was welcomed by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), the German Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI), the German Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport, the Finnish Ministry of Finance, the Czech National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB), the Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate, SAP, Dedalus, Deutsche Telekom, O2 Telefónica in Germany, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, Raisin, Scalable Capital, Volksbank, Telia Company, Accenture, AlmavivA, Deloitte, Eviden, Materna and msg group.
