FruitVeB: greenhouse production can increase, due to the easening of the use of thermal energy
In Hungary the volume of vegetables grown in greenhouses can be significantly increased from 200 thousand tons per year to 600 thousand tons by 2020, due to the easening of the use of thermal energy – Mártonffy Béla, president o f the Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Interprofessional Organization (FruitVeB) on Tuesday in Budapest.
The president of FruitVeB told that Hungary is the world leader in the utilization of thermal energy in agriculture. However, the Hungarian producers were not able to take full advantage of this option for a long, because the utilization of thermal water was hindered by a number of factors. It was required to reinject thermal water used in agriculture, now this rule is terminated. (MTI)
