The fruit growers had a somewhat better year than average, but the vegetable growers have closed a good year in 2017 – Ledó Ferenc, President of the Hungarian Vegetables and Fruit Interprofessional Organization and Product Board (FruitVeb) told MTI on Thursday in Kecskemét.
At the annual professional conference of FruitVeb and TÉSZ-ÉSZ fruit and vegetable growers’, Lédó Ferenc emphasized that until the end of March fruit production could close a record year, but the frosts of April caused 25 to 30 percent loss, mainly in the sour cherry and apple crops.
