Fruitveb: warming accelerates the development of plants
The current weather is good for agriculture, the warming accelerates the development of plants – read the announcement of the Fruitveb Hungarian Vegetable and Fruit Trade Organization and Product Council on Monday.
Although the cool weather of the previous weeks slowed down the growth, the rain helped at the same time, plenty of precipitation reached the deeper soil layers, and in some places internal water also appeared. Due to the warming, these may disappear within days, the precipitation tendency decreases, and no lasting rain is expected this week – they wrote based on the forecast of the National Meteorological Service (OMSZ).
According to the agrometeorological analysis, the corn plants received moisture in the flowering phase and the rapeseed in the grain formation phase, at a good time
Corn and sunflowers mainly needed rain in the Great Plains. The warming that started in the past few days helps the further development, although the pathogens multiply quickly due to the persistent wetness of the leaves, they added. According to the map summaries published on the website of the OMSZ, until the middle of the previous week, the least amount of rain fell in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county and some parts of Hajdú-Bihar county. During the previous 30 days, there was little rain in the greater part of Tiszántúl, as well as in smaller areas west of the Tisza.
