FruitVeB: increasing production of one million tons, 100 thousand new jobs by 2020
The fruit and vegetable sector, is willing to increase its output with a total of approximately one million tons from the current 2.5 million tons between 2014-2020 and want to create about 100 thousand new jobs in rural areas – Mártonffy Béla Chairman of the Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Interprofessional Organisation (FruitVeB) said on Thursday at a press conference in Budapest.
He added that this is the most important sectoral task, in order to create the conditions for the competitive production of goods in the EU's new budget and development period between 2014 and 2020.
When presenting the development proposals of the Hungarian fruit and vegetable sector for the 2014-2020 period, the Chairman announced that the cost of the planned developments during that period will reach 465 billion HUF, of which the support claim will be 232.5 billion HUF. (MTI)
