Fresh products in drugstores and 100-forint shops
Due to economic recession and the increasing importance of comfort, small shops are becoming more popular all over the world. To increase shopping frequency more units add fresh products to their portfolio. In the United States drugstore chain CVS sells honey, sandwiches, salads and fruits. About 15 percent of goods sold by the US ’99 Cents Only’ chain is also food and beverage products. As a reaction to this trend, food retailers are expanding their cosmetics, clothing and pharmaceutical assortment and also try to offer more services.
