Annual inflation slowed in France in June
In France, the annual consumer price increase decreased to 2.2 percent in June from 2.3 percent in the previous month, according to the final data published on the website of the French statistics office, INSEE, on Friday.
The preliminary data announced at the end of June was 2.1 percent. A year ago in June, annual inflation in France was 4.5 percent. In a monthly comparison, consumer prices increased by 0.1 percent in June this year, following stagnation in May.
The slight decrease in annual inflation was played by the fact that the increase in energy prices from 5.7 percent to 4.8 percent in May, within which the increase in petroleum products decreased from 2.9 percent to 0.7 percent, and the increase in food prices slowed from 1.3 percent to 0.8 percent . On the other hand, the price increase of services accelerated from 2.8 percent in May to 2.9 percent.
