France would put the global food market on new basics
France aims to repel speculation in food prices. While the European Commission not even mentioned speculation in its late January report as the reason of of food price fluctuations, France seems to do everything to put the global food market on new basics.
Enhancing the transparency of the food markets, revealing the identity of the investors, greater market regulations and a more efficient information exchange between the countries will be the main elements of the French proposals that will be submitted on the G20 meeting in June. According to them, the fact that the global food markets are not regulated brings far too many risks – reports Világgazdaság Online.
