Important changes have taken place on Hungarian beaches
Pénzcentrum conducted an interview with Zoltán Balogh, Secretary General of the Hungarian Bath Association, in which they discussed the current situation of Hungarian baths, the benefits of membership and future changes.
Baths and Membership
Zoltán Balogh said that there are more than 400 water facilities in Hungary, of which 220 are relevant for tourism. More than half of them, 108, are members of the Hungarian Bath Association. Membership is not mandatory, so each organization decides for itself about joining, which can be mainly a financial issue for smaller spas.
Membership Benefits
One of the main benefits of membership is quick access to information, especially during pandemics and energy crises. The association organizes professional programs and helps members in the interpretation and application of legislation.
New Legislation
The interview also discussed the new regulations on natural healing factors, one of the most important changes of which is that in the case of pools no deeper than 1.35 meters, a pool inspector who can be trained by the spas themselves is sufficient. In addition, the loading and unloading pools will cease to exist in their current form, as they cannot be operated without treatment in the future.
Shortage of professionals and price increases
Zoltán Balogh explained that many professionals left during the pandemic, and it is still difficult to find suitable machinists. Regarding the price increases, he said that this year, on average, prices are 10-15 percent higher, partly due to the energy crisis and the new water and sewer rates.
