The School Fruit Program continues
Half a million primary school pupils receive fresh fruits every second day from Monday in the scope of the National School Fruit Program. This year, the opportunity was extended to the fifth and sixth grade students as well – on of the supplier of the program, the Matész-Fruct Kft. told MTI on Monday.
According to the notice, the Ministry of Rural Development continues the EU co-funded nationwide program in the 2013/2014 school year. The program aims to promote the children's consumption of fruit and vegetables, thereby contributing to the development of healthy eating habits, to fight against obesity. (MTI)
