Hungarian manufacturing industry continues to decline
The seasonally adjusted volume of the Purchasing Manager Index (BMI) is 45.8 percent in June, which is 0.4 percentage points higher than the to 45.4 percent volume of May, but still lower than the usual level.
According to the The Hungarian Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Society's (MLBKT) communication, which was sent to MTI; the decline of the manufacturing industry began in October will continue, however, the pace slightly decreased. Previously, the index was below 50.0 percent, only in 1998 and in 2005. At least for nine consecutive months the manufacturing industry has never shrunk in the past 15 years. The previous record was the five months of the August-December period in 1998.
