The land sale program continues
As a continuation of the land sale program started in 2020, the National Land Center (NFK) will announce for sale a total of thousands of pieces of state land with an area of less than 10 hectares at the beginning of September, the Ministry of Agriculture announced in its statement on Wednesday.
As in the previous procedures, anyone can make a purchase offer for the affected areas, taking into account the conditions contained in the law. Sales continue to take place electronically – they explained. In the land sale program starting on Wednesday, about 6,625 hectares of land will be offered for sale publicly, for which purchase offers can be made for 30 days. Accelerating the liquidation of undivided common land ownership is still an important goal for the Ministry of Agriculture, with which the Hungarian property policy aims to remedy more than thirty years of debt.
Anyone can take advantage of a purchase offer
Similar to the previous land sale programs, the lands to be sold also serve to clean up the state’s land portfolio, as the goal is to sell small-sized, typically privately owned, properties. The Ministry of Agriculture reiterated: anyone who meets the conditions stipulated in the law can make a purchase offer for the advertised land. Sales take place electronically. The minimum purchase price of the parcels of land is published in the announcement, below which no less favorable offer can be made. Up to the size limit of one hectare, persons who do not qualify as farmers can also buy land, and in such cases the cost of the valuation of the real estate is covered by the state. All farmers can make an offer for land between one and ten hectares, or their share of ownership, using the Electronic Tender System on the NFK website, after identification by the customer gatekeeper – explained the announcement.
The goal is to support the activities of producers
They added: the coronavirus epidemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war highlighted the fact that food supply is a strategic issue, one of the foundations of which is agricultural land. Despite the challenges facing agriculture, thanks to the dedicated work and diligence of Hungarian farmers, fresh and healthy food is put on the tables of Hungarian families every day. For this very reason, the Ministry of Agriculture supports the activities of producers with all possible means, one of the basic means of which is the development of property policy measures that take into account the needs of farmers. Attention was also drawn to the fact that the list of lands to be sold will be available on the website www.nfk.gov.hu from September 7, 2022, and the data on the properties available for purchase will also be published on the websites of the municipalities of the affected settlements.
