Sunflower oil prices may continue to rise
Ukraine has the world’s largest sunflower oil industry, but the Russian invasion has led to a significant decline in plantations and exports, portfolio.hu quotes Ievgen Osypov, CEO of Kernel Holding, who gave an interview to Bloomberg Television.
Farmers are now starting the spring sowing season, which could see a 20 percent drop in volume and, of course, yields, he said. Taken together, this means that combined production of cereals and oilseeds could fall to 60 million tonnes, up from more than 100 million tonnes last year, Osypov said. (portfolio.hu)
