Subsidies are constantly coming to the farmers
In the framework of the Rural Development Program, almost HUF 400 billion in subsidies were paid to farmers this year, said Minister of Agriculture István Nagy.

The head of the ministry reminded that in the period between 2021-2027, compared to previous years, the amount of available rural development resources tripled. In 2021, the ministry developed and launched the “Renewable countryside, renewable agriculture” program, which aims to fully modernize agriculture and food production, which form the backbone of the Hungarian rural economy. In the past two years, the Ministry of Agriculture has published a number of calls for tenders, for which the actors of the Hungarian agriculture and food industry have submitted support requests to a greater extent than expected, he added. He emphasized that the evaluation of the tenders and the payments are continuous, only in the last month of the year about HUF 60 billion are paid to the winners of the tenders.
Support for the spread of precision farming technologies appeared as a new support goal in Hungarian agriculture
As an example, István Nagy mentioned that the irrigation development subsidy has been continuously available to farmers for years, and those concerned have the opportunity to submit applications until June 30, 2023. In connection with the call, more than HUF 8.5 billion were paid to farmers this year. The head of the ministry also touched on the fact that the support for the spread of precision farming technologies has appeared as a new support goal in Hungarian agriculture. Farmers received 43.3 billion forints this year within the framework of the tender announced for this purpose. He added that one of the most successful calls for tenders of the Rural Development Program was the tender scheme aimed at supporting small agricultural plants that are able to develop based on their abilities and ambitions, and help small-scale agricultural producers earn income and stand on their economic footing, for which a total of HUF 33.23 billion was paid in 2022. out to those involved. The minister emphasized that the development and support resources of Hungarian farmers are guaranteed next year as well.
