The performance of agriculture has steadily expanded this year

The performance of agriculture has expanded this year even in spite of last year's high base. In 2013 the role of agriculture was determining in the economic growth, and this positive trend continues in 2014 – the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) told MTI on Thursday.

The ministry stressed that in the agricultural sector the value added has increased by 10.8 percent in the third quarter. Thus, the agriculture contributed by 0.6 percentage points to teh 3.2 percent GDP growth. This is primarily due to the favorable crop production – especially the corn and sunflower apple and cherry crop yields and the increasing output of livestock. (MTI)
