Foil producing can save the production of paprika

The increasing awareness for PDO products and the growing spread of lead foil producing can result in an increase of pepper growing areas – was said at the Renaissance of Spice Paprika onference on Monday in Szeged.

Molnár Anita, head of the Szeged Paprika Consortium, said that the domestic pepper growing areas decreased to the fragments of the area of a few decades ago, to an estimated 1,200 hectares of which about 500 hectares are located in the Szeged area. Imports give two-thirds of the domestic consumption – reports MTI.
