There are less domestic tourist in Western Transdanubia
According to theCentral Statistical Office, the Western Transdanubia commercial accommodation in the first four months of 2009 has been decreased by 2.7 percent less than a year earlier. The number of overnight stays decreased by 2.4 percent.
The traffic has already increased in April, but this has not able to offset the decline of February-March.
In the first four months, 1.4 percent more foreign tourists visited the region, but the number of domestic tourist, decreased by 4.9 percent. Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic remained the most important tourism partners. however much less German came while more Czechs and Austrians have visited the region.
Between January and April 2009, the turnover of the Western-Transdanubian hotels was 12.56 billion HUF, which is a 1.3 percent increase compared to the the same period of previous year.
