After a complete overhaul SPAR supermarket reopens in Mammut shopping centre
SPAR Hungary’s stunning futuristic store was redesigned in cooperation with SPAR International and SPAR Austria. The new store, which opened on 28 August, utilises cutting edge technological solutions and complies with the highest customer standards. In the modern, market-like 2000m² space product groups are arranged in islands. Shopping is pleasant and comfortable in the store where new colours were used when creating the interior, both the floor and furnishings are lighter than in other SPAR stores. The designers used lots of wood inspired by the fact that the word SPAR means pine in Dutch – we learned from Katalin Bukta, SPAR’s technology specialist responsible for the refurbishment works. Environmental considerations also mattered when designing the supermarket. State-of-the-art mechanical and technological solutions were used and the latest equipment was installed to make the store meet the highest energy efficiency requirements. Norbert Lakatos, who managed the investment project, stressed that the environmental CO2-based cooling system is a technological novelty, what is more, energy saving LED lights were installed everywhere. We learned from convenience expert Máté Viszokay that in the ‘SPAR to Go’ snack bar guests can choose from more than 200 cold and hot dishes. All of them are made on site, using fresh ingredients and every day 20-25 dishes appear on the menu. SPAR Hungary currently operates 411 stores, from which 18 work in a franchise scheme. SPAR’s new supermarket in the Mammut shopping centre is open seven days a week. (X)
