Cyber security in focus: preparing for new requirements on the finish line
The Cyber Security Act imposes new requirements on the operation of their electronic information systems for many companies. The affected organizations have until the end of 2023 to prepare to comply with the new rules.
Nowadays, cyber security is a particularly important area due to technological development and the digital transition of companies. The purpose of the Act on Cybersecurity Certification and Cybersecurity Supervision is to strengthen the security of organizations particularly exposed to threats related to IT systems.
The law only applies to organizations belonging to certain industries and carrying out certain activities, e.g. for car manufacturers, manufacturers of electronic products, many energy and pharmaceutical companies, as well as cloud service providers and data center service providers. The complete list of affected industries and activities is recorded in the annexes of the law. With a few exceptions, the legislation does not apply to micro and small businesses, but if the business is, for example, an electronic communications service provider or a trust service provider, it also applies to it.
