Consumer Protection Authority: Family Frost recalled quick-frozen potato croquettes
Family Frost Ltd. has recalled pre-baked, quick-frozen potato croquettes due to mineral oil contamination, and consumption of the product may pose a health risk, the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) announced on Friday.
According to the information, Family Frost, in cooperation with the authority, took the necessary measures within its own competence, ensuring the withdrawal of the affected batch from circulation and its recall from consumers. The NKFH is monitoring the measures taken by the company and the further fate of the recalled products – destruction or transportation.
The recall concerns 1000-gram pre-baked, quick-frozen potato croquettes with a best-before date of April 27, 2027, batch ID 460112, manufactured by Agristo Nazareth (Belgium), and distributed by Family Frost.
Mineral oil hydrocarbons can contaminate food in many ways, including from lubricants used in harvesting and food production, processing aids, food or feed additives, food contact materials, or environmental contamination, the NKFH explained.
The authority asks that those who have purchased the affected product not consume it.
