FM: about 40,000 hectares are affected by frost damage
Due to the extreme weather and the great cold, some 40,000 hectares were hit by frost damage, the producers are facing a difficult year – Fazekas Sándor, Minister of Agriculture told M1 news channel on Wednesday.
It was reported that 10,000 hectares of apples, 8,9 thousand hectares of grape, 2,000 hectares of plum and 1700 hectares of hives were damaged, and almost all fruit crops were damaged on a few hundred hectares. In this case, the Agricultural Damage Fund, the insurances, preferential loans will help the producers to overcome the difficult months. (MTI)
