FM: The sheep and goat sector performed well in recent years
The sheep and goat sector performed well in recent years and its production increased by 11 percent in volume between 2010 and 2015, rising by almost 50 percent at current prices – the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) told MTI.
According to the report, the sheep population on 1 June 2015 was around 1.2 million and the number of goats in December 2015 was 72 thousand.
On 1 June last year, the sheep population was 34 thousand more than in the year before, while the number of goats increased by 2,000 in one year. The number of sheep reached 34 100. (MTI)
