FM: 200 million HUF for developing environmentally conscious waste collection approach
A call will be announced for NGOs, local governments and churches to raie public awareness on waste management and the promotion of environmentally conscious thinking – the Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture said at a press conference in Budapest on Monday.
V. Németh Zsolt said that the smallest amount that can be claimed is 500 thousand, the maximum is 3 million forints.
He added: In Hungary, about 3.7 million tons of municipal communal waste is generated each year, while a third is utilized and composted, another 500 thousand tons go to energy recovery. To increase the proportion of material content and composting, a more environmentally conscious approach is needed – the State Secretary said. (MTI)
