László Flórián will manage Praktiker from April

A new CEO will manage the Hungarian-owned, nationwide DIY chain Praktiker from April 2025. The newly appointed László Flórián has 27 years of experience in retail, 11 of which he spent in various domestic and international leadership positions in the DIY market.

From April 1, 2025, László Flórián will manage the Hungarian-owned, market-leading DIY chain Praktiker as CEO. The new manager’s task is to help achieve strategic and business goals, and to support the dynamic expansion of the nationwide DIY chain despite market challenges, as well as to further strengthen Praktiker’s webshop, which already has high brand awareness and traffic. László Flórián said in connection with the appointment: building on decades of domestic history and a team of experienced professionals, uncompromising customer service will continue to be a priority in the future, which forms the basis for developments, such as expanding the range, innovations in marketing or logistics. The new leader also supports Praktiker’s further domestic expansion: the DIY chain will open a new store in Székesfehérvár in 2024 and in Debrecen this year.

László Flórián has 27 years of domestic and international experience in the field of trade, and has worked in the DIY market for more than a decade in various management positions. From 1997, he worked at the METRO department store chain, then at OBI Hungary as a store and project manager, moving to the DIY market. After that, he managed increasingly large teams in Hungary and Romania in sales management and sales director positions at Baumax. He was responsible for opening a total of 10 large DIY stores in the two countries. He led Rossmann Hungary between 2011-24 and Rossmann Czech Republic between 2014-16. During this period, the company’s sales revenue increased significantly in Hungary and achieved the highest operating profit among drugstores.
