Rise at Tesco Polska
Tesco, the UK retail giant, has signed a new pay deal with its workers in Poland. According to agreement with NSZZ Solidarnosc, representing 80% of the staff, workers get 30% rise this year.
Staff, working since more than 2 years at the
company get extra bonus. Tesco steped on the Polish market in 1996,
now has 280 stores and almost 28,000 employees. The cost of rise is
more than HUF 4,5 billion.
The Free Trade Union Sierpien 80
(August 80) demands a 700-zloty pay rise for the workers of the Tesco
supermarket chain. The organization also wants the supermarkets to
adopt a collective labour agreement. The members of the union
announced that they will stage a protest on 20 March in front of
Tesco's management headquarters in Krakow.
